CS Sarajevo first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina with ISO27001:2005 standard

 ZAGREB, December 15th 2008 - CS Computer Systems Sarajevo, the affiliate of CS in Zagreb is the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina certified to the world's most acknowledged information security standard - ISO27001:2005. CS Sarajevo has thus acquired experience and expertise to advise its clients about their internal procedures and preparations for their own ISO27001 standardization.
CS Computer Systems has established its affiliate company in Sarajevo less than two years ago, and today it has acquired the world's most accepted standard for data protection, ISO27001:2005 issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). This certificate guarantees the workflow of CS Sarajevo to be completely protected according to the top world standards. CS Sarajevo is thus certified to advise its customers for the procedures and preparations for their own ISO27001 standardization as well.
Philosophy behind the ISO27001 norm is to broaden the view from the usual technological security issues to those related to workflows and risks that are inherent in contemporary business. ISO27001 is, therefore, not just an IT norm as it does not exclusively focus on technological systems, but implies a specific corporate structure and organization as well.
This standard defines the installation, application, service and improvements of data security management systems and specifies all the fields that need attention - starting from physical security, through the employee security procedures, to the information system protection. It relates to all kinds of formats - printed, electronical, postal, aural, visual or verbal, and can be applied to the organizations of all sizes or just some of their specific departments. Since the ISO27001 requires a revision each year and a recertification each three years, its application is a continuous process of improvements and tracking, rather than a one-time check.
ISO27001 allows the implementation of additional security features not included by the standard and is coordinated with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, making its application easier for the companies that have already certified for those.
